Hash-Baum in Bitcoin - BitcoinWiki

Is Hashie the beginning of a triangular structure that's about to collapse?

I hope you're sitting down and not at one of those fancy sit-stand desks because what I'm going to tell you will probably shock you. Hashie.co, the cloud mining company, was apparently nothing but a ponzi scheme.

Discussions on it
Truly it is amazing that people fell for the ol' "I'll set you up for free, and once you're happy then you can really make money" line. I bet all those free 10 GHS weren't even real. Just numbers in a spreadsheet to hook them.
But I digress from my original point, the price is going down and adoption isn't growing fast. Business that take bitcoin are only using it as a conduit for sweet sweet fiat and even the ones that don't are reporting shit numbers. Is Hashie the beginning? Will other pieces of the puzzle start to fall and crumble? Will scams that have thrived in this ecosystem full of fresh hosts start to just die off one by one? Could this be the beginning of the end?

Hashie.co was "hacked", or was a scam all along

Apprently Hashie.co had been suspended with its frontpage replaced with an ARG, more on that later.
So on chat people were talking about if Hashie was a scam or not, then we noticed the ARG address had 0 bitcoins in it. Then an admin named Queen Elsa came in and said blockchain.info had issues, then all of a sudden the ARG address has 30 BTC in it. So after that a user named anntonop said he was Andreas M. Antonopoulos( a famous bitcoin author ) Queen Elsa asked if he was accualy him and anntonp repliyed with his twitter status.
Queen Elsa spilled the beans and said that something bad happened at Hashie so they are playing an ARG. Everyone in chat freaked out about this. After a few minutes she said Hashie had lost all their miners due to hackers. Anntontop replied with miners can't be hacked.
Again chat was panicing and screeming that they lost all their money. A lot of bitcoin news writers acually came to watch this fisaco. Queen Elsa then said the ARG would have the infomation on what happened and then said, hashie lost 100 BTC.
To me Hashie.co seems like a ponzi scam

Paycoin ruining lives around the world

Just received this e-mail (identifying info removed). Apparently a lot of people fell for it, and are quite desperate. This guy definitely didn't make a good decision to not only buy more than he could afford, but with other people's money too.
I am XXXXXXXX from a remote town XXXXX of India. till last week My life was as normal as it should be but then I bought Paycoins @13-14 dollars each for about 15 BTC.
I hoped to make out some profit to cover for losses caused due to breakdown of Hashie and HASHprofits
Now I took four loans (~15 BTC) on BTCJAM and BLC to buy Paycoins which are currently accounting for around 3 BTC or less https://btcjam.com/users/XXXXX
and now the total loan has raised to around 21 BTC due to debt consolidation
the desperation of loans is abt to kill me If something didnt happen soon... i fear that I might get a heartattack soon or end in extreme depression still i know its none of ur concern
I am an aspiring Computer Science Engineering student who wud be getting a good job in some months to come but that also wud take some time....
After my degree I am ready to work free for u guys for some specified time If i want that as an assurity...
I tried going for a bank to ask a loan but i was denied becuase I am a student still
I know I did a lost of mistakes and should have known better but Please I hope that someone out there might help...Please...and as I said I could return the money(bitcoins) eactly after two years once I am settled in my job
I know u might be getting a lot of messages reagrding this but please trust me I am speaking the truth...
I would be indebted to you for the rest of my life
Please Save me
I am ready to sign any contract or provide any of the details like my home address, my every single detail just to prove that I am not lying
So please help carry this message to anyone u can there :(
Please Save me
I am not asking for the charity
just asking for the amount to save me for two years
And If anything should happen to me in the said time I will make arrangements to pay u back
I would do everything to pay u back...I just need some time
I know I made some very bad decisions and now my life is literally at stake...
Please help me Save me...
I am asking u to buy me this time so that I could live again....
you can see at facebook.com/XXXXX that I am still a student
Please I am literally begging u to help me and I assure with my everything that I Wont let u regret this decision...
I will do everything to pay u back but I need some time....I will be graduating by the end of the year and should get a decent job later...
I will save everything I can to pay u back after two years
Please buy me my life for two years
and again I wont be taking this at charity
I would return the amount and hopefully a lot more than that after two years to probably help someone like me I am ready to give any details any proof of ids or adresses to let u assure that I am not a fraud...I just made some bad mistakes :(
I would be indebted to you or anyone who would help me for the rest of my life
Regards
Crap thing is, the guy is a pretty good borrower normally, and seems like a good guy, being pretty upfront and open about his identity and such. Just sad seeing people driven to such desperation.

[TASK] Signup for a free Bitcoin miner using my referral link, and I will tip you

hashie.co are running a 10 GH/s Bitcoin cloudminer giveaway for new customers. The free miner I got is currently mining about 70 bits per day.
If you sign up with my referral link I will send you 200 bits. This promotion is only open to those who don't already have a hashie.co account.
Instructions
  1. Sign up to hashie.co using this referral link.
  2. Go to https://hashie.co/freeminer to claim your free 10 GH/s miner
  3. PM me or post in here and I will send you a Bitcoin tip using the changetip bot. Those who post screenshots with a readable miner ID will be prioritized.
  4. Log in to your reddit account on https://www.changetip.com/ if you haven't already done so, to claim the 200 bits tip.
Withdrawals on hashie.co are disabled until you become a paying customer. So either you are satisfied with the 200 bit tip or you buy a 20 Gh/s miner that will increase your mining income to 200 bits per day. You can leave the free miner running and later buy additional miners to enable payouts outside of the hashie.co interface.
That's it! I will limit this promotion to the 30 first responders. After that I can't tip you.
EDIT: Closed.

Authoritarian @gladoscc on GitHub (who proposed removing Coinbase from bitcoin.org) is known scammer TradeFortress

Evidence:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1184037.0
User [email protected] -- webmaster for both hashie.co and coinchat.org -- ties TradeFortress to Hashie...
This is the monster created by Core / Blockstream / theymos censorship and broken governance and misunderstanding of Nakamoto consensus - the inevitable result is they end up enabling a known authoritarian / scammer like @gladoscc - allowing him to help set policy for a p2p network currently worth 7 billion USD (when instead he would be exposed, ridiculed and shunned in a non-censored community).
A sampling of autoritarian comments from @gladoscc is shown below:
https://github.com/bitcoin-dot-org/bitcoin.org/pull/1178#issuecomment-167379700
We definitely need to coerce Coinbase into switching back to Bitcoin Core. If we do not take any action, we're setting a dangerous precedent where other wallets and services are allowed to break apart from the consensus.
– @gladoscc
https://github.com/bitcoin-dot-org/bitcoin.org/pull/1178#issuecomment-167381330
I think we may need to start an accreditation scheme for Bitcoin [Core / Blockstream]-consensus compliant wallets and services.
– @gladoscc
https://github.com/bitcoin-dot-org/bitcoin.org/pull/1178#issuecomment-167382225
Removing Coinbase from Bitcoin.org is not 'banishment', we're just expressing our opposition.
I have been calling for Coinbase, Blockchain.info, Xapo, Circle, BitGo, etc to be removed from bitcoin.org a long time ago. I still think we should preemptively remove all the above services until they sign a letter renouncing their support for Bitcoin Xt, and anything Gavin or Hearn makes.
– @gladoscc
https://github.com/bitcoin-dot-org/bitcoin.org/pull/1178#issuecomment-167382418
I'm not sure how we can reliably identify transactions as from Coinbase, but even if we could, we should not reject Coinbase transactions as it removes fungibility of bitcoin.
Instead, if we can reliably identify their transactions, we could set a fee multiplier for Coinbase/Blockchain.info/Xapo/Circle/BitGo transactions, like 4x. Bitcoin Core already intends to do this in inverse with the 0.25x multiplier for SegWit, the preferred Bitcoin scaling solution.
A better long term solution may be provable computing, plus multisig, with miners verifying that transactions have been signed by Blockstream or another entity in that the node/wallet they are running is compliant with Bitcoin [Core / Blockstream] consensus rules.
– @gladoscc
Core / Blockstream / theymos have forgotten the definition of Nakamoto consensus:
The idea expressed by various Core devs / supporters that consensus rules "aren't up for CPU vote" reflects either a bizarre misunderstanding of permissionlessness or a deliberate attempt to dissemble. – tsontar

The "hashie.io" scam is going on

After the fake cloudmining operation hashie.co stole its users' bitcoin, it trolled them with a ridiculous "alternative reality" game for a few days. Now the website is back, with new terms of service and the promise of "generation 2" miners. Balances of old users are gone though, and many of them got banned for asking questions in the chat. Hashie.io was a very obvious scam from the start - and now continues to prey on people. Users of the "hashiescam" IRC chat found out that the server of hashie.io is based in Russia. Currently it is being DDoSed. Don't fall for cloud mining services. Stay away from them. Most of them are scams - and even the ones that are legit are just built to take your money and return part of it slowly.

WTF ppl?! Bitstamp has FUCKED people over. Congratulations for not going full MtGox?! WHO SAYS THEY HAVEN'T. Stop sponsoring this!

The title says it all. There's been no acknowledgment of the hack's details and it's sickeningly obvious to everyone - whether you admit it or not - that something is very, very wrong here.
Everyone (most, I should say) here has major issues with the banks treating people like shit. All the terrible things banks do are paraded through here daily, and we're told Bitcoin is a panacea for that greedy, statist elitism. Maybe, maybe not.
One thing is certain though: Bitstamp is acting just as badly as any bank has or does. This is not a time to pat them on the back. Being dripfed pieces of news and given meaningless deadlines is not how this is meant to work, right? what is the point of Bitcoin's decentralized nature if another exchange is holding people's money? (and God knows if that money is even there!)
Bitstamp, MtGox, inputs.io, Instawallet, etc etc: the same pattern for 6 years and it's still happening! Why? IMO because while people are happy to complain, there clearly isn't enough pressure on Bitstamp to do the right thing. I don't have the solution, as I am beginning to believe these issues may be flaws with Bitcoin itself: it seems to be impossible to secure.
Bitstamp is not in the right here in any way shape or form.
What do I suggest be done? : stop congratulating Bitstamp. Stop looking for the silver lining, and last of all: THINK RATIONALLY!
Ask yourself honestly (keeping in mind Hashie, Cointerra, VoS, Bitstamp) ... DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT EVERYTHING IS OK?

Free Bitcoin Mining

Go to hashie.co for a free 10GH/s miner. Makers about $0.03USD/day/10GH. You need to purchase a miner to send money to your wallet. However you purchase miners in bitcoin. One 20GH/s miner is about 0.024 BTC. It's faster to send bitcoin there to buy the miner. Though you could just wait 300 days to get enough bitcoin to buy a miner. All for free.

Free cloud mining

It exists, but they all require you make an actual purchase in order to cash out.
Site Offer Duration Notes
Cloudminr.io 100GH 7 days
Hashie link removed 10GH Indefinite This is a scam site, they will steal your coin, tell others so they don't get scammed!
Hash Profit 200KH 7 days
Cloudminr.io is kind of an unknown. They're on bitcointalk but that doesn't mean a whole lot.
Hashie seems to be the most useful one. It would take a while (couple years) but it could pay for a miner by itself. You can send faucet earnings to them to speed that up a little too by the way (0.00005 minimum transaction).
Hash Profit I wasn't terribly impressed with. I don't think they can ROI in a meaningful way.
These all earn bitcoin but have their own hoops to jump through. If you're willing to throw coin at them that's up to you... I haven't. Consistent passive bit income isn't a bad thing though.
edit: screwed up a link, fixed now
